An extinguisher is for small, early fires only. If the fire reaches the cabin or fuel tank area, get everyone out, move away from the vehicle and call emergency services
Mount it securely
A loose extinguisher can roll under the pedals. A metal bracket comes in the box, so it can be fixed in place.
Keep it within reach
Under the front seat or next to the driver's door — not buried under luggage in the boot.
Keep it out of direct sun
A parked car gets very hot. It works from -30°C to +60°C, but keep it shaded where you can, and check that the gauge pointer stays in the green area.
